About Pastor Phil
The Person
- Spent some of his youth in Tacoma where his father, Knute Lee, was a Pastor and professor at Pacific Lutheran University.
- One of his three brothers is also a pastor.
- Met his wife of 29 years, Carolyn, while he was a youth director at her home church in Millbrae, California. She is a Registered Dietitian and has worked for the WIC program for 25 years. They have three sons, one of whom is currently at Seattle Pacific University.
- Enjoys hiking, fishing and playing tennis.
The Student
- Graduate of Seattle Pacific University in Speech Communications (1977).
- Received a Master of Divinity Degree from Wartburg Seminary, Dubuque, Iowa
- Received a Masters Degree in Counseling from the University of San Francisco
Completed several years of Doctoral studies at Trinity Theological Seminary
The Pastor
- Served at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Sacramento, California for the last 20 years.
- Enjoys and leads various forms of worship, including traditional, contemporary and "come-as-you--are" services.
- Served on short-term missions to Europe and Kenya during the past two years.
